
In 2025, Dr. Lisette Balabarca co-edited a special issue of Calíope: Journal of the Society for Renaissance and Baroque Hispanic Poetry. The volume’s title: “Por haber dejado la verdadera ley de Dios”: Poesía morisca y aljamiada.
Dr. Marcela Garcés published about her Spanish 250 course in an article titled “Medical Spanish: Online Pedagogical Tools in a Social Justice Context” in a special issue of Hispania titled Health and Well-being in Spanish and Portuguese Contexts in March 2026, edited by Jen Brady.

In June 2025, Dr. Janet Shideler was invited to make a presentation to the Capital District Genealogical Society regarding the lives of French Canadians in Québec before the exodus of many of them for New England and New York. That talk, entitled “But Who Were They?: The culture of the French of North America,”examined the lives of the people of New France: where they came from, their interactions with indigenous populations, their homes, land settlement, the values and identity that emerged over the centuries, and the departure of nearly 1 million Québécois for “les États,” beginning around 1840.
In July 2026, Dr. Nathalie Degroult presented the film La Brigade at the annual American Association of Teachers of French (AATF) Conference in Boston during the session “Allons au Cinéma: Promoting French through Films, Volume V.” Dr. Degroult’s piece on La Brigade is featured as one of fifteen contributions in this pedagogical volume.
